The Big Quiz: and the winners are……

Congratulations to The Ugly Bobbers (Richard Figg, Lynn Figg, Linda Broome & Jo Tucker) for walking away with the £500 prize at the latest big quiz.

With reigning champs The Avengers (Pete Thomas, Ali Daley, Dom Yates & Ady Tuckwell) leading the way through all the rounds and looking like making the double, we came into the last round with Jack got a Hat-Trick (made up of Andy Bolter, Lisa Curtis, Alan Bolter & Patricia Bolter) having made up quite a deficit in points to be just one point behind and in with a shout of knocking the champs off their throne.

However, another team had decided that neither Jack got a Hat-Trick nor The Avengers were going to cash in this time.  The Ugly Bobbers decided to make a play for it and pulled out all the stops to steam ahead and steal the prize from under their opponents noses.  To add to their success, The Ugly Bobbers stole both spot prizes by scoring more points on the picture rounds, Cuts of Beef (identifying which cut of beef originates from which part of a cow) and European Geography (identifying European countries on a map), winning a bottle of champers and a round of drinks.

The evening proved to be another fun and successful one with a number of teams turning up to take part.  Look out for the next Big Quiz – will we see a new winning team or will The Ugly Bobbers stay on top?  Can The Avengers re-claim their crown or will Jack got a Hat-Trick finally steal the prize that’s been eluding them?  Find out at the next Big Quiz
